What’s your title? Executive Administrative Assistant

How long have you worked at Olu’s? Today is my fifth day at Olu’s.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most? So far I have enjoyed getting to know the people I work with. I have enjoyed getting to know all the wonderful services that Olu’s Home has to offer to the community. I like being a part of an organization that improves people’s lives.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had? The best meal I have ever had is my sister’s taco surprise. It’s her special recipe of tacos and nachos. The surprise is she might cook it 3 times a week (just kidding).

What is your favorite family tradition? My favorite family tradition is baking sweets during Christmas. My mom used to make “million dollar sugar cookies”. They were the greatest. They were crispy and had a lot of frosting on them. My sister would devour them. She always ate the most and didn’t want to share. Now that my mom is gone, I have continued with the tradition of making mom’s “ million dollar sugar cookies”. My sister still devours them and really doesn’t want to share with anyone, so I separate hers from everyone else’s.

Where is your favorite place to eat? My favorite place to eat is Long John Silver’s. I grew up (in Iowa) eating there a lot. The Mall of America is the only place in Minnesota that has a LJS. I have driven to the mall many times just to get fish and chicken from LJS. It’s so yummy!

What did you want to be when growing up? Growing up I wanted to be a teacher like my mom. I used to play teacher with my sister and friend. They would act bad and I would use a ruler and hit their hands. I am lucky that I was able to teach for 20 years in Iowa and Minnesota.

What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time I love to be with my family (Sister and brother-n-law). We spend our time shopping all weekend and eating out. I have so much fun with them.
